Who we are

Car Lift Company Ireland is a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd. Caruso Consulting Co Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. Ireland administration: Iveagh Court, Block D, Harcourt Rd, Dublin, Ireland. You can reach us about privacy at theteam@customersupport.care.

We handle personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018. We do not sell your personal data.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and what you bought.
  • Payment: card and PayPal payments are handled by the payment provider on its own secure pages. We receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
  • Messages: what you send us by email, through the enquiry or feedback forms, or in the chat assistant.
  • Tracking numbers: if you enter a tracking number on Track Your Parcel, it is sent to the tracking service to look up your parcel.
  • Website use: through Google Analytics, information such as pages viewed, the device and browser you use and the site you came from. See "Cookies and Google Analytics" below.

Why we use it

  • To take, deliver and support your order, and to handle returns and refunds. This is needed to carry out our contract with you.
  • To answer your questions and feedback. This is in our legitimate interest in looking after customers, or needed for a contract you are asking about.
  • To keep records that tax and accounting law requires. This is a legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the website secure. This is in our legitimate interest.
  • To measure how the website is used. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland this relies on your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run the shop, with service providers who act for us: payment providers (Stripe and PayPal), website hosting, our order database, the service that sends order emails, our enquiry and feedback form provider, the chat assistant provider, the parcel tracking service (17TRACK), couriers, and Google for analytics. We may also share information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers, and our international call centre, are outside the European Economic Area. When your data goes outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as a European Commission adequacy decision or the Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Your browser stores your cart and your cookie choice so the shop works. Google Analytics loads on every page for every visitor, using Google Consent Mode. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, including Ireland, analytics and advertising consent starts as "denied", and no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you accept on the cookie banner. While consent is denied, Google can still receive basic signals that do not use cookies, such as the fact that a page was viewed.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Our Cookie Policy has the detail.

The site has no comments and no customer accounts, so we do not collect comment data or set login cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

If a page embeds content from another website, such as a video, that content behaves as if you had visited the other website. That website may collect data about you, use cookies, add its own tracking and record how you use the embedded content.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your question and any follow-up. Analytics data is kept under the retention settings of our Google Analytics account. When we no longer need data, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including an exported file of data you gave us;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • erase your data, except data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes;
  • restrict how we use your data, or object to our use of it;
  • stop using your data for marketing, at any time.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email theteam@customersupport.care to use any of these rights. We may need to confirm your identity first. We reply within one month.

Keeping data safe

The website uses encrypted connections, and payments are taken by the payment providers on their own secure pages. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, though no website can promise complete security.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's data protection regulator, at dataprotection.ie, or to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Children

Our shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
